Hello and welcome

We are PortCreative. We are an established team with a brand new name – and a new mission.

Port Creative is made up of an experienced team of designers and marketing communications professionals with a bit of a difference – we all work for Portsmouth City Council.

First, a little bit of history

In 2006 Portsmouth City Council stopped outsourcing graphic design work by recruiting a graphic designer (that was me) to work as part of the corporate communications team.

Over the next ten years the team grew and we expanded the range of services to include photography, illustration, building graphics, animation, web development and video. As we established a good reputation and word got out, we started working with partners who were already working with other areas of the council.

We then took on work from outside the council, undertaking work for other local authorities, local NHS services, charities, contractors and business partnerships.

This is becoming even more important as councils up and down the country face increasing financial pressures. To help make sure money goes where it’s most needed, council’s are coming up with more creative ways to supplement income received in grants and taxes. One of the ways Portsmouth is doing this is to offer our great creative service outside of council walls.

Back to the present

This year sees us expanding our offer to a wider range of clients (that’s you, hopefully).

To do this, we have a great new name – PortCreative. It’s an identity that we think has a great link to our fine city, and its waterfront location.

Who we are and what we do

We’re a team of four graphic designers, each with our own strengths in branding, photography, motion graphics and illustration. We cover everything from typesetting basic forms to all-singing, all-dancing character animation. We can turn our hand to anything creative and have designed many unique pieces, including branded merchandise, installation graphics, event branding, trolls, and even hand painting a marketing suite.

Here are a few of our favourites:

That’s not all

We’re backed up by a crack team of marketing communications professionals, so if you’re in need of integrated campaign planning, you want to know what makes people tick or you need a calming communications hand in a crisis – we know who to call.

Let’s talk

Put simply – we’re Port Creative and we offer affordable design that makes a difference. Don’t take out word for it – our portfolio speaks for itself.
